Scientists in Japan have developed a super thin wrap made of hydroxyapatite to protect teeth from cavities and tooth decay. Previously, the biomaterial was used to repair teeth and bones, but the material was too inflexible to be wrapped around teeth. This innovation allows the virtually invisible material to conform to the teeth and protect enamel that is healthy or already damaged. Scientists hope it will be available for commercial use within five years. Read more here.
