Alzheimer’s Disease Affects Women More Harshly Than Men

New research shows that women suffer greater memory loss from Alzheimer’s than do men.  A study was performed to assess the cognitive areas that are affected by the disease.  The findings revealed that women tend to suffer a greater loss of verbal and visuospatial skills than their male counterparts.  It appears that even when men and women are at the same stage of Alzheimer’s, women fare worse on cognitive tests.  Researchers are not sure why this is the case, but suspect… Read more here.
