Cataracts Indicate Easy Detection For Alzheimer’s Disease?

A new research discovery has important implications for the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease.  Scientists found a strong correlation between cataracts and the degenerative disease and believe that that toxic proteins that gather in the eyes also lead to the trademark memory loss and confusion that is associated with Alzheimer’s.  The team examined almost 200 DNA sequences and identified the protein, deltacatenin, as the essential factor.  Read more here.
