Researchers are reporting that global warming is the cause for the heat waves that struck Texas last year.  The record heat and drought were further exacerbated by La Niña.  Scientists found that when this weather pattern is expressed, the chances of heat and drought are 20 times more likely than in the 1960s.  This conclusion was drawn from computer simulations used to quantify the study.  Read more at yahoo.com.
