How Wolves Made It To Remote Islands

For many years, evolutionary biologists have wondered how the Falkland Islands wolf reached the remote islands, located off the coast of Argentina.  Now, scientists believe that the only mammal to have lived on the islands before being hunted to extinction in the 1800s, walked over many miles of glacial ice to get there.  Allegedly, the wolf diverged from its ancestors about 16,000 years ago when sea levels were low and a frozen strait led right to the islands.  See more at Huffington Post.
